  • Podium Project: Where Art Meets Skate Culture

Inaugurated on June 13, 2025, at the Pincourt Skatepark, the Podium Project is a public art installation by multidisciplinary artist Jean-François Leboeuf, originally from Sept-Îles and now based in Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac. A visual arts and multimedia teacher, Leboeuf has pursued a vibrant artistic practice in drawing, painting, photography, and installation since the early 2000s.

Through Podium, the artist pays tribute to amateur skateboarders—those unsung athletes who embody skate culture, blending sport, style, music, and individual expression. The work features eight large-format watercolor portraits inspired by local skateboarders of all ages. Printed on aluminum and integrated directly into the skatepark, these portraits turn the space into an open-air gallery where art and performance meet.

Podium celebrates the creativity, community, and free spirit that define this still-marginalized culture, despite its inclusion in the Olympic Games. The installation highlights the beauty and strength of the sport, offering greater visibility to those who practice it.
