Speed reduction on certain streets: 40 km/h

At the council meeting last May, the Pincourt Town Council has decided to lower the speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 km/h on certain streets to improve safety for everyone. On Forest Avenue, this change is being standardized in collaboration with Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot (NDIP).

Affected streets:

  • 5th Avenue
  • Boulevard de l’Île
  • Cardinal-Léger Boulevard
  • Forest Avenue
  • Rue de la Seigneurie

The replacement of speed limit signs is underway. Please pay close attention to the new signage in these areas.

Did you know…
- When a car strikes a pedestrian at 50 km/h, the pedestrian’s risk of death is approximately 75 % to 80%.
- At 40 km/h, this risk drops to about 25 to 30%.
